June 2026 - Consequences

Practically everything we do has some sort of consequence.  Sometimes the consequence is amazing, great, fulfilling and makes us feel great.  Other times the consequence can mean heart ache, pain, bad feelings or having to redo work.  This month I have been dealing with a particularly terminal consequence, burning a notebook as fuel thinking that I had typed it up! 

Leading up to that point, I was super excited, having converted my handwritten notes to text on my Remarkable pro and then collated them all into a document to start reading through.  This was incredibly simple to do and saved me 3-4 months of typing up the notes, baring that I haven’t lost or burned the paper notebook!

The first three chapters were what I had previously typed up.  As I saw the transcription of a new character’s point of view (Illena) I began to wonder just how well the Remarkable do with my handwriting?  Had my gamble to improve my timelines truly paid off? 

My mind though whirled at that moment because I wasn’t expecting this chapter yet!  I double checked the PDF, in case I had put the pages in the wrong order, but nope they were just missing.  Next check was my OneDrive and my hard drive, hoping that I had typed it up just not saved it in the right place.  Cold water began to flow through my veins as I had an image of me with a notebook, merrily tearing pages out as the fuel to start the fire in my wood burner on a cold winters eve.  I was utterly sure in that moment I didn't need that notebook.  Oh oh oh how I wish now that I had checked.  So, July’s job is re writing that section.  Sorry folks I've put myself back several months now, but hopefully once done I’ll be able to wizz through it without having to type it up!
